11. Talk about a dance experience that moved you or that you are proud of. (A performance, a dance event, fundraiser.)
a. While training for Impact’s second season we had an opportunity to dance with Hailey a young girl with cerebral Palsy. At this point I was still undecided as to what I wanted to be “when I grew up”. Hailey made leaps & bounds when she came to practice to interact/dance with us. She was moving in ways she never had before. I left rehearsal that day feeling changed, inspired and grateful to have been able to share the dance floor with her. That day Hailey made me realize something about myself that I hadn’t known for years. I wanted to help others who had physical limitations. Not necessarily disabilities but rather help people become mobile again. Seeing the joy in her face made me want to do that for everyone even if it wasn’t through dance. I’ve always been able to move around freely & making sure others can do the same has become an overall mission of mine.
