1. How long have you been dancing?
a. I have been dancing for almost 15 years. I started taking actual dance classes when I was 8 years old.
2. What is your favorite style?
a. I love all kinds of dance ! My favorite would have to be contemporary.
3. How long have you been with the company?
a. Since the very beginning :)
4. What school do you go to?
a. I am hoping to attend Umass Boston once again in the Fall.
5. What do you study?
a. I majored in Criminal Justice.
6. What is one word that would describe how you feel when you dance?
a. Beautiful
7. What got you into dancing?
a. My mom signed me up for dance classes at a competitive dance studio and I stayed there for 10 years.
8. How do you feel when you perform?
a. When I am on stage, I feel like I have a moment to take complete strangers on a journey with me. A journey that can only be captured once because each time I perform I try to give different parts of me. Eventually, feeling complete vulnerability. I feel as though dance is also about feeling vulnerable and allowing yourself to grow past your own barriers.
9. What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?
a. Most people are surprised by my age because of how young I look :) I am 22.
10. Do you teach dance?
a. Not currently, but I have taught Jazz and Hip-Hop classes to children and young teens.
11. Talk about a dance experience that moved you or that you are proud of. (A performance, a dance event, fundraiser.)
a. My most memorable performance that I am most proud of was the time I placed 10th out of 200 dancers at one of my dance competitions. My choreographer was Meghan McCaffrey :) I was very proud of myself because it was my first contemporary solo at 15 and I had never placed in any dance competition before that. I was also very proud of Meghan and the commitment we both shared to make that one of the best solos I enjoyed performing.
12. What do you eat for breakfast?
a. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel w. cranberry juice
13. Have you traveled outside of the country? If yes, to where? If no, where have you gone in the USA?
a. No, but I have traveled to Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida and Puerto Rico.
14. What do you do after a long day of rehearsals?
a. Take a hot shower, eat something, RELAX and SLEEP
15. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
a. In 10 years, I hope to see myself far in my criminal justice career, if not owning my own business of some sort. Or FAMOUS :)
16. What is your favorite non-dance hobby?
a. Shopping and hanging out with my close friends.
17. What are your biggest pet peeves and your biggest indulgence?
a. I love chocolate ! My biggest pet peeve is when a person burps at the dinner table !
